Abstract
This writing discusses the relations of power among Dutch colonial, contracted slaves, and the local government in Deli, East Sumatra. This writing is interested in scrutinizing the relations of power among the Dutch colonial, contracted slaves and the sultan (the local king) in Deli plantation in the early 20th century by the use of postcolonial and the concept of power by Foucault as written in an novel by Emil W. Aulia entitled Berjuta-juta dari Deli: Satoe Hikajat Koeli Contract. The relations of power among these three parties ran unequally. In other words these relations did not share the same strength. Consequently, Dutch’s power and sovereignty made contracted slaves lived under Dutch’s control.

Abstract
This article aims to assess the character Heathcliff in the novel Wuthering Heights. This Study using a psychodynamic perspective. The study shows that as human beings, Heatcliff wants to fulfill basic human needs, both as individuals and as social beings. He can’t live alone. As an individual, he needs respect and admiration for his achievement. In public life, he needs someone else to each other mutual assistance. Basic needs for human life can’t be obtained by Heathcliff. Thus, in the context of psychodynamic, Heathcliff life's journey have not found the mouth of a form of harmony. Psychologically, both as individual beings and social beings, Heathcliff can’t fulfill all wishes and hopes to live peacefully.

Abstract
Politeness may differ from one language to another. However, it is still possible to apply some general rules of politeness to examine a certain language.This article tries to examine politeness in Javanese, especially for making request, through two main factors. They are through the cultural concepts and the linguistic properties. Therefore, being polite in Javanese means being able to choose the appropriate speech styles and to use the appropriate morpho-syntactic structures.

Abstract
This research in general aim to describe set of morphologic unit in the form of afix which is used as gender marker in Indonesia. As for stages;steps of performed within this research cover three phase, that is: ( 1) method and data collecting technique, ( 2) method and technique analyse the data, and ( 3) presentation method of result of data analysis. Pursuant to analysis which have been conducted known by the gender marker in Indonesian, besides marked by morfemic is also marked by fonemic. Gender marker which is in the form of phoneme is phoneme /a/ and /o/ to be masculine, while phoneme /i/ to be feminine. Gender marker in Indonesian which is in the form of morpheme are: sufix {- wan}, {- man}, {- in}, {- ur} what is used to be neutral or masculine and sufix {- wati}, {- at}, {- ris}, {- ita} what are used for the form of feminine. Gender marker in Indonesian no masculine special dichotomy of feminine versus. Neutral word has majority gender; there no tight system in usage gender, and also there are not system concord.
