Abstract
This article discusses the aim and purpose of an addressee in using the word insyaallah in the casual Javanesse speech. Based on the analysis, this study concludes that the use of the word insyaallah is not always meant ‘with God’s permission’, but also offers various aims which depend on the context of the speech, which are (1) will, (2) expectation, (3) invitation, (4) negligence, (5) request (6) probability, (7) pridiction, (8) must, (9) determination, (10) permission, (11) ability or availability, and (12 ) ability and will.
